GVJCCAはこの秋、14年間にわたって使用してきた日系センターの200号室を大掃除し、新たに廊下を通って少し離れた小さめの240号室にオフィスを移転しました。

9月19日から21日にかけて、バンクーバーで全カナダ日系人協会（ National Association of Japanese Canadians, NAJC）の年次総会が、第二回日系カナダ人青年リーダー会議 (Japanese Canadian Young Leaders Conference, JCYLC) と提携して同時に開かれました。

The JCYLC was an excellent opportunity for young leaders (from teenagers to 39-year-olds) to connect, bond, and generate even more enthusiasm, which has been building between the young leaders who have been working together on the organizing committee . . .

GVJCCAからパウエル祭協会 (Powell Street Festival Society, PSFS) へ第38回パウエル祭の成功を寿ぎ、厚く御礼申し上げます。パウエル祭は長らく、日系カナダ人コミュニティーにとって、歴史的に重要なパウエル街とその近隣地域に集う素晴らしい機会となっており、その点で、いくつかの難題があったもの、今年も従来と変わりませんでした。

　まず初めに６月１７日に隣組集会室で行われた The Bulletin/ 月報の今後についての討論会にご出席頂いた皆様にお礼を申し上げます。関係者の皆様におかれましても、ジョン・エンドウ・グリーナウェイ(編集長)、山本一穂(日本語編集)、笠井かおり(同上)、アン・ジュー(広告担当)、マイケル・トラ・スパイアー(配布担当)などThe Bulletin/ 月報スタッフに会っていただく貴重な機会となったと思います。

　日系カナダ人コミュニティの非常に献身的なメンバーであったベティ井上氏が逝去されたことを受け入れるには、大変な悲しみが伴います。夫であるロイ氏や親族、そしてベティ氏が生涯で関わった人々に、心からお悔やみ申し上げます。
