I am looking a man by the name of Aki. When my husband, Donato Cianci (he was known as Don then) was a young boy in West Vancouver, he had a playmate by the name of Aki. His last name was not important but their friendship was. Together they climbed trees and spent a lot of splendid time together. Aki would have lived at a house at approximately 2609 or 2611 Nelson Street in West Vancouver. My husband remembers the day, likely in December 1941 when he went to call on Aki and found his home emptied and deserted. His friend Aki and his family was never to be seen again. They would have been young boys, approximately six years old and oblivious to the politics and fears of the time. To this day, my husband wonders with deep concern where Aki might be, and what became of him and his family. After a recent reunion and visit in West Vancouver, my husband Donato returned to his old home on Nelson Street and the spruce tree that he and Aki once played, still stands. Akis house is no longer there.

Aki would now be a senior, likely in his early seventies. He may have been taken from Vancouver all together, or perhaps returned. I know this search may seem next to impossible but we would like to find Aki, or connect with anyone who may have known him. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
