Obivious insight. A little late in the game to be writing about it, though. In my years in Japan, I have observed attitudes and relationships shift from male orientation to female orientation.

My university classes reflect this phenomenon. Famale students appear purposeful and motivated. Male students appear taking up space and time to "get the class finished." Females appear serious about whatever task is a hand. Males appear ready to play games or "be polite."

Consequently, female students often enjoy high grades in school, while their male counterparts settle with less than excellent.

Disclaimer: All generalizations carry weaknesses and the above observation is meant to be taken in this context.
