I just read this story and was heartened to learn that UBC is at last recognizing the unfairness of 70 years ago and issuing honorary degrees to those students who had been expelled after Pearl Harbor. Mary Kitigawa is to be commended for her efforts in making this happen.

I went to UBC with Henry. I remember him in Acadia camp. He always wore ice cream pants and I always wondered how he kept them so white. I don’t know whether he remembers me or not but I was glad to see that he had done so well. I remember him as a good althlete, student and friend. Don West BSc 1960

I just saw the film The Cats of Mirikitani last night, and not only is it a wonderful story of caring and healing, but Mirikitani’s art is breathtaking. Is it possible to get prints of his work?
